Volunteers For Peace
Every summer, the CEDC welcomes volunteers from around the world to its Philip street location. Through the fantastic international program Volunteers for Peace, participants work on renovation of the CEDC building to house the local and international volunteers.
In addition, they train local community residents in computer technology, and provide information about employment and job-training opportunities, as well as annual renovation of a church school for K – 12th grade students.
Volunteers stay in the house and have beds, showers, and a kitchen provided.
We welcome people from all walks of life, with any variety of interests and background. However, individuals with alcohol or drug addiction problems are not welcome. Painting, carpentry and roofing skills would be of great help, but are not required.
